New adjustable laser pointer available

Ocean Optics recently announced an adjustable laser pointer and added new components to its Jaz module sensing system to enhance the performance of stand-off metrology applications.

Jaz's modular induction platform is a stackable component of a common electronics and communications device. The platform's CCD array microspectrometer can be optimized by selecting different grating and slit options to suit all types of measurements. A high-performance on-board microprocessor with a built-in display eliminates the need for personal computers.

Jaz ALP focuses the collected light on the sample under measurement into a precise point. In addition to adding the ALP module to the Jaz stack, the Gershun Tube kit is provided separately to help maintain the spectrometer's viewing angle between 1° and 28°. A low-power laser pointer can precisely locate the sample area at a calibrated distance of 2-14 meters, and re-adjustment can achieve a longer distance. Four internal plum head adjustment screws allow vertical and horizontal control of the laser beam direction. The Jaz-ALP is powered solely by three AAA batteries and includes a power switch with a red LED on the indicator.

The Jaz Adjustable Laser Pointer is an effective tool for precise single-point measurement of a wide range of slide screens, flat displays, and media walls, as well as other sampling areas that require precise focusing of a wide range of light areas. Its mix and match of accessories, including additional spectrometer channels, battery packs, Ethernet connectivity, software packages, light sources, and now ALP, make the Jaz highly customizable to handle the vast majority of challenges in complex measurement environments.
