After the U.S. International Trade Commission issued a brief statement after the voting on the case, it approved the U.S. Department of Commerce’s assessment of the tariff, but did not release more details. According to U.S. law, as long as the U.S. International Trade Commission’s final ruling is a positive decision, the U.S. Department of Commerce will issue an anti-dumping and anti-subsidy tax order within 7 days after receiving this arbitration result.
According to reports, Beijing Jincheng Tongda Law Firm is the sole agent for domestic tire companies to respond to this double counter case. The senior partner of the law firm stated that they and the domestic tire industry have made the utmost effort to deal with this double counterattack, winning six to zero from the preliminary ruling and winning three to three of the final ruling. China will carefully review the details and reports of the case and decide whether to appeal it based on the results of the review. Liu Danyang, deputy director of the Bureau of Trade Relief of the Ministry of Commerce, pointed out that the United States has imposed punitive double anti-tariff on China’s export of sedans and light truck tires, which has caused the Chinese government’s high concern and China’s firm opposition to this trade protectionism.
Since joining the WTO, China has been a global anti-dumping investigation for 14 consecutive years and has become the primary target country for global anti-subsidy investigations for nine consecutive years.
