Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced its production and sales data for the whole year of 2015. Last year, the company's global production and sales both achieved growth, while retail sales in China climbed 15% year-on-year, setting a record for the highest monthly sales.
In December last year, Nissan's global new car production achieved a growth of 6.8% to 437,113 units, of which Japan's domestic production fell 1.9% year-on-year to 73,829 units; in overseas markets, its production in the Chinese market increased by 28.3% year-on-year to 139,596 units.
For the full year of 2015, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. produced a total of 5,170,056 new vehicles at its global plants, up 1.4% year-on-year. Among them, domestic production in Japan fell slightly by 0.9% year-on-year to 872,831 units, and production in China increased by 2.6% year-on-year to 1,206,168 units.
In terms of sales volume, Nissan Motor's global retail sales in December last year were 526,640 units, up 11.0% year-on-year. China sold a total of 159,148 vehicles in the single-selling market with the highest sales volume, a year-on-year increase of 15.0%, setting a record for the highest sales volume in China in a single month. In December, Nissan's US sales also increased by 18.7% year-on-year to 129,300 units, and in the local Japanese market, it fell by 3.8% year-on-year.
In the whole year of 2015, Nissan's global cumulative retail sales increased by 2.1% year-on-year to a total of 5,421,804 units. The company sold 1,250,073 vehicles in the Chinese market last year, up 6.3% year-on-year; sales in the US rose 7.1% year-on-year to 1,484,918 units.
In addition, Nissan also exported 46,787 new cars from Japan to December last year, down 14.3% year-on-year; the annual export volume still increased by 9.7% year-on-year to 518,631 units, of which exports to North America fell 4.7% year-on-year, while exports to Europe were year-on-year. The strength increased by 55.2%.
