According to Dow Jones Newswires, Continental Group CEO Elmar Degenhart said in an interview that the mainland's 2020 sales target is 40 billion euros (52.1 billion US dollars).

Dow Jones Newswires also reported that Elmar Degenhart believes that Continental Group will not be affected by the European debt crisis in 2012. At most, sales growth will decline slightly. Continental Group is confident in 2012.

Elmar Degenhart also stated that it is expected that by 2020, the number of employees in the mainland will increase to 200,000. At present, the global number of employees in the mainland is 164,000.

Continental's sales target for this year was 29.5 billion Euros (42.1 billion US dollars). In the first three quarters of 2011, mainland sales increased by 18.0% year-on-year to 22.6 billion Euros. Elmar Degenhart expressed confidence in achieving its 2011 sales target.
