Recently, Baosteel successfully developed a high-torque, anti-sulfur drill pipe. The first 5,000-meter product has been successfully shipped and exported to Turkmenistan.
The natural gas project on the right bank of the Amu Darya River in Turkmenistan is the largest overseas gas exploration and development cooperation project so far in China. It is developed by CNPC and some of its natural gas is exported to China via the West-East Gas Pipeline. The operating conditions of the gas field are very complex and require the drill pipe to have high torsion and sulfur resistance. Last year, CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Company ordered 17,000 meters of high-torsion anti-sulfur drill pipe from Baosteel, of which 5,000 meters supplied the right bank of Amu Darya in Turkmenistan.
In order to complete the first batch of contracts, Baosteel technicians worked closely with production operators to boldly improve the heat treatment production process, and conquered the world-wide challenges of high-strength, large-wall-thickness, sulfur-resistant joint heat treatment. Baosteel technicians also specially drafted a guide to go downhole to ensure the correct use of the product by users. For the smooth export of products, Baosteel's marketing staff not only provided a Russian quality guarantee book, but also actively cooperated with users to carry out export inspection work and were well received by users.
