The scientific research project of a measurement station in Yantai, Shandong, won the Scientific Progress Award of the Measurement and Testing Society

The “Condensation Weighing Method for Steam Flow Standard Device Development” project submitted by the national Yantai National Steam Flow Measurement Station was obtained. 2017 China Academy of Measurement and Testing Society Award for Science and Technology Progress Award. Xu Wenda, chief engineer of the national steam flow metering station, received the award on behalf of the National Steam Station.

The China Association for Metrology and Measurement Science and Technology Progress Award is the highest award in the field of metrology and testing. The award shows important scientific and technological achievements in the field of metrology and testing. It has been held five times since 2013. The "Condensation Weighing Method for the Development of Steam Flow Standard Devices" is a scientific and technological plan project of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, which fills the vacancies in large-diameter, high-volume, high-precision steam flow standard devices at home and abroad.

The research results of this project have made positive contributions to the traceability and value transmission of steam flow in the country, maintaining trade order, solving trade disputes, saving energy and reducing consumption, optimizing the environment, etc., and promoting social energy conservation and consumption reduction. The service sector involves southern Guangxi. Steam users from all over the country, from north to Heilongjiang, from the west to Xinjiang, have steadily increased the number of service companies and achieved remarkable economic and social benefits.

Since the operation of this device, it has solved hundreds of steam metering dispute cases and provided steam metering equipment with R&D testing and technical upgrading services for many steam meter manufacturers both at home and abroad. It has played a significant role in the performance improvement and development of steam flow meters.
