How to select the diaphragm pump

Diaphragm pump flow:

According to the volume of the plate-and-frame filter room, the moisture content of the dehydrated mud, and the concentration of the sludge before the plate frame, the required amount of mud to be converted for each dewatering operation of the plate frame is calculated. Diaphragm pump material:

Such as ordinary biological sludge, the use of ordinary polypropylene material, more economical. Other special sludge, according to the specific sludge composition, choose the diaphragm material.

Matters needing attention in the design:

1. The pressure reducing valve and ball valve are installed on the intake line to facilitate the inspection and adjustment of the flow and pressure of the diaphragm pump;

2. When the dehydration starts, the air pressure should be controlled at 2-3 bar. When the flow of the water is significantly reduced, the air pressure is increased and better dewatering results will be obtained.

The disadvantages of using a diaphragm pump:

1, the pressure can not be increased, is limited by the pressure of the air source, 7bar to the upper limit;

2, noise and pipeline vibration, especially in the atmosphere;

3, relative to the screw pump, diaphragm life is short, easy to damage;

4, because the diaphragm pump flow is usually not too much, most applications in small systems;

The advantages of using a diaphragm pump:

1. The investment is low, and the screw pump needs to be able to adjust the flow device, frequency conversion or pressure adjustment valve, and it also needs an associated pressure sensor;

2. The work is reliable and simple. It can automatically balance the flow as the filter resistance increases.
