The national standards for rare-earth-doped fiber in China, led by Wuhan Fiberhome Communication Co., Ltd., have been drafted from the 1st of this month. It is reported that this is the world’s first national standard for rare-earth-doped fiber.

This standard mainly deals with double-clad ytterbium-doped fibers in rare-earth-doped fibers. Other countries have not issued relevant national standards for rare-earth-doped fibers. Experts said that the formulation and implementation of this standard will promote the development of China's fiber laser industry, and have guiding significance for regulating and testing the import of related products.
