Michelin Tire announced the financial report for the third quarter of 2013 a few days ago. The company’s net sales continued its declining trend in the previous quarter, which was a 5.8% year-on-year decrease to 5.123 billion euros.
Michelin's net sales of all business units also suffered a decline in the previous quarter, with sales of cars and light trucks and related distributions reaching 2.7 billion euros, a year-on-year decrease of 3.3%. Sales of trucks and related analytical businesses decreased 6.5% year-on-year to 1.66 billion euros; sales of specialty tires reached 761 million euros, a year-on-year decline of 11.9%.
From the overall performance of the first three quarters, Michelin’s net sales totaled 1.528 billion Euros, a year-on-year decrease of 5.3%; sales of passenger cars and light trucks and related distribution services fell 3.3% year-on-year to 8.02 billion Euros; sales of trucks and related analytical businesses increased year-on-year It decreased by 5.2% to 4.78 billion euros; sales of special tires business reached 2.48 billion euros, a year-on-year decline of 11.5%.
