According to the data, in the first 11 months, a total of 5.796 million domestic passenger vehicles were sold, an increase of 4.94% year-on-year; accounting for 41.31%, a year-on-year decrease of 0.84 percentage points. Among them, 2,704,800 cars were sold, an increase of 1.49% year-on-year, accounting for 27.75% of the total, which was a year-on-year decrease of 1.3%. The decrease in the proportion means that the joint-venture car companies have seized more market share, which caused the industry’s high concern. Fortunately, the decline was only temporary. In 2012, the local auto companies made more "ground-based" work and made technical reserves. These technologies are installed in large quantities in new vehicles, mainly in the next year. All are "T"

This year, the self-developed 1.5-liter small-displacement turbocharged engines have appeared on local production vehicles such as the Great Wall, BYD, and Brilliance, and these engines have excellent output power and torque, and are no less inferior to the same-grade engines of the joint venture brands. After Guangzhou Automobile took no jobs, it launched the 1.8T engine at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November. After Beijing Auto's digestion and absorption of Saab technology, it also has a turbocharged engine plan.

However, the current turbocharged engines used in the domestic models generally have a disadvantage. The popularity is not high enough, and the reliability and durability have not been verified by the market. Some turbocharged engines are equipped with turbochargers in the original naturally aspirated engines. Or based on the market mature engine reverse development, adjustment and overall performance lagging behind opponents.

This situation will be changed in 2013. Analysts say that one year is enough to allow local car companies to adjust turbocharged engines to what consumers can accept. In addition, according to the plan, in-cylinder direct injection technology will also be popularized next year to further reduce fuel consumption.

Comments: Local car prices are indeed weaker for technology. When hybrid power emerged, there was a swarm of bees; when electric vehicles were hot, the auto show was full of electric cars; no one thought that traditional small-displacement turbochargers would be “real life”.


Breakthrough in transmission

On the transmission side, Geely launched the 6AT transmission after digesting and absorbing Australian DSI technology. After years of painstaking research, Chery’s CVT CVT emerged to break the technological monopoly of the joint-venture car company. The Landwind X5 is equipped with 8AT transmission and it has come to the forefront. Forefront of the world, before this, only a few companies such as Germany ZF and Japan Aishin own this technology; BYD chose reverse research and development to successfully master the 6-speed DCT dual-clutch gearbox technology.

Most of these transmissions were selected for release in the fourth quarter and were put into mass production vehicles in large quantities and brought to the market until next year. Unlike turbocharged engines, local automobile manufacturers have developed transmissions for many years. Chery established the CVT project in 2003 and is accompanied by tests in research and development. In addition to the disputed 8AT, the above transmissions have higher reliability.

It is worth mentioning that these transmissions are clearly between the "manipulation" and "fuel saving." In other words, there is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of smoothness and quickness in shifting. It cannot be expected that it will greatly enhance driving pleasure.
