Novenco and Alfa Laval are teaming up to launch a new fuel-cooling system specifically designed to handle low-sulfur marine fuels. The system, called Alfa Laval's Advanced Cooling System (ACS), was introduced to make the ship safe to operate with any low-sulfur fuel (LSFO).
The advanced cooling system is designed for easy installation in space-constrained areas. At the heart of the system is a QCM cooling unit from Novenco that delivers cooling water to the Alfa Laval Fuel Conditioning Module (FCM) at a steady temperature to accurately control fuel viscosity under a variety of conditions.
It is reported that the two companies started to jointly develop the cooling system in March 2010, and signed a formal cooperation agreement on November 23, 2010.
